A Bullseye for Racing Enthusiasts – The Revolutionary Superflex Automotive Felt
For a few years, Jarkko Palo from Ylöjärvi has been racing his classic four-wheeler in Historic Race Finland competitions. After the last season ended, he thought about how to make it easier to haul his hobby vehicle to the racetracks. So, he bought an old bus.

“It occurred to me that I could leave the combination of a closed-box van and a trailer behind and get to work on a proper bus for transporting racing gear. This bus had been used by a similar team before, but I extended the transport area for race cars so it can fit two vehicles if needed,” Palo explains.
“The back half of the interior was completely redone. I built a small sleeping unit back there. The bus already had sleeping space for a few other travelers.”
The coronavirus put a bit of a brake on Palo’s day job, so he had a little more free time than usual during the spring. He decided to do the finishing work on the bus’s interior right away. But where to find the right automotive felt? That’s what gives a vehicle its final touch.

Expomatto Oy, Located in the Same Industrial Area, Offered the Solution
The company normally supplies exhibition carpets to trade show venues, public events, and theaters, but due to the sudden pandemic, public gatherings had been restricted for weeks. Expomatto began marketing itself to car manufacturers and enthusiasts, as its imported and sold automotive felt is a bullseye for many car modders. The same was true for Jarkko Palo’s bus project. The interior walls now look great.
“And I was lucky that the felt supplier was so close by,” Palo smiles, about to begin the racing season with his team.
So, you could say some good came from the coronavirus. Car enthusiasts had more free time for their projects, and their interior material needs were met by Expomatto, which holds over 10,000 square meters of automotive felt and textiles in stock. They found and secured new markets in motorsports and other vehicle-related hobbies during these exceptional circumstances.
The new Superflex automotive felt was a perfect fit for Palo’s bus. Its quality has also been noticed by countless van converters and other DIY enthusiasts who work on vehicle interiors for a living or as a hobby. The same goes for boaters.
The Revolutionary Superflex Automotive Felt
This is the first European product of its kind. It is 4.4 mm thick and conforms perfectly to even the most difficult areas in a car’s interior. High-quality fiber blends, a mold-resistant treatment, and fire ratings make Superflex an exceptional, top-tier product. It also comes in six different colors, which is more than you typically see in automotive felt selections.
“For a hobby like this, it’s also important that the material is easy to clean,” Palo notes.
As a wholesale importer, Expomatto has very competitive prices throughout its selection. Even though Superflex is a brand-new product, and made in our own continent, it is the most affordable automotive felt on the market.
