An exhibition carpet, officially known as a needle-felt carpet, is an easy-to-work-with material. At exhibitions and trade shows, it’s used to decorate booths and protect floors. At home, an exhibition carpet can be used for many things, such as a mat for an entryway or office, or even as a carpet for a children’s room.

Made of polypropylene, or more familiarly, synthetic fibers, the needle-felt carpet is sold in two-meter-wide rolls, with a typical length of 50 meters. The price per square meter is affordable, and a ten-square-meter piece is enough to spruce up several floors in your home.

Exhibition carpets are most commonly used as a covering material for stairs in old detached houses, but the felt mat can also be shaped for smaller needs. The color selection for needle-felt carpets is extensive, with plenty of shades to choose from, including dark and light gray, blue, black, red, green, and a large number of bright colors in different tones. A thicker option than an exhibition carpet is an outdoor grass mat designed for patios, which is more moisture-resistant. You can cut a suitable piece from a grass mat to soften the floor of a glazed balcony and make it warmer for your feet. A patio mat can be a wall-to-wall carpet for the entire balcony or a smaller piece cut to fit in front of the balcony door or under a seating area. A patio mat is very easy to work with using a utility knife. You can cut a round shape from an exhibition carpet, or shape it into a graphic and trendy hexagon or even a cute gingerbread-like edge.
